Why don’t you say hello to Super-Woman? Yes! That is what we will call the 21st-century woman. Today’s Woman is a working-class boss lady, a wife, a mother, a teacher, a friend, a sister and much more… You can fill in the blanks. Being ‘Today’s Woman’ is a lot of work but luckily, science has proven that women are great at multi-tasking! The hassle in trying to juggle everything from one end to another has caused countless women to feel like failures and more often than not, lose their cool. The question now is “How do you remain sane and make sure you are still crushing it? Simple answer, Find a balance! Okay, I know, it is not as simple as that but come to terms with it; you are going to find a solution one way or the other so it is just better to convince yourself that it is going to get simpler once you start somewhere. So here are some tips to help you juggle through schedules.

Self-confidence

Before you begin, you have to believe that you can do anything you set your mind to do especially finding a balance. This is important because your mental space has to take this seriously before your physical being can take action. Make a mental note to yourself about what makes you feel good, dwell on them and build your confidence level regularly.

Create your routine

Time is a finite resource therefore it should be managed properly. Creating a routine will help you maximize the 24 hours allotted to you in a day and in doing this, you should arrange the items in order of priority. When you have created your routine, be ready to follow it religiously and at the end of the day, even if you did not attend to every item, you will feel fulfilled about the important ones you were able to attend to.

Be a step ahead

This simply means you should always be ready a day before. This is perhaps the most important rule to observe. This is because your mornings usually begin with a set of goals that have been drawn out to achieve so having to deal with ironing, picking breakfast or searching for a pair of shoes can put you in such a disorganized mental state that you begin to question your productivity ability for the rest of the day. If possible, complete some of these domestic tasks a day before like cleaning the car or shoe polishing to keep a clear head for the next day.

Have a place for everything

‘Mummy I can’t find my socks!’; ‘Mummy where is my textbook?’; ‘Honey, did you see my wristwatch?’ Familiar questions, right? These questions can drive you nuts! To prevent this daily chaos, have a place for everything and let it be known to your husband, kids, and domestic staff also. Follow up by ensuring that the items are returned to their appropriate places once used.

Find what works for you

Everyone will always have one advice or the other but you need to filter out the noise and pick what suits you best and what also suits your situation.

Although being a working mom can be exhausting, having the best of both worlds — work and family — is also very fulfilling when you’ve gotten a hang of it. It is possible to pursue a fulfilling full-time career while taking an active role as a mother when you learn to find a balance that works for you.
